WHITESNAKE Frontman Comments On Possible Glitches On New DVD Release

February 8, 2006

WHITESNAKE frontman David Coverdale has commented on the reports from some of the group's fans that some copies of WHITESNAKE's newly released "Live... In The Still of the Night" live DVD contain audio/video glitches. In a posting on the band's official message board, Coverdale wrote, "I did everything I could to make this a complete, functioning piece of work. The project I approved was not, I repeat, not, faulty in any way. You must do whatever is necessary to be happy with your purchase. Perhaps you can ask the store where you purchased it to change it for another copy that hopefully works to your complete satisfaction, or, as you say, ask for your money back. I promise you I am very saddened by all this. Until I hear from the distributors I can only express my disappointment alongside yours. From what I understand, the actual concert part of the DVD is working perfectly. it's the documentary that seems to be compromised on some of the DVDs. At this time I can only offer you my apologies. . . All I can say is bring it to the store or the distributors attention. I am doing what I can to find out what the problem is. It appears that it is not a problem for some, so, at this time I do not know how to answer you fully. I fulfilled all my contractual obligations to the production company as an artist and there was no problems when I signed off on the project. Something must have happened with the manufacturing end. Unfortunately, I have nothing to do with that, other than approving what I am given as the final production copy. This I did, and there were no problems, glitches, whatevers...I promise you I did not approve sending out anything that was faulty. I have never done this, and I would never knowingly do anything of the kind."

As previously reported, WHITESNAKE are tentatively scheduled to record several new songs for a planned collection of live material recorded over the course of the last three years. A video compilation featuring all the WHITESNAKE clips, the COVERDALE/PAGE videos and as-yet-undisclosed "not-so-well-known" clips is also in the works.

WHITESNAKE have just issued their first single-disc retrospective via Hip-O/Geffen/UMe. Entitled "The Definitive Collection", the CD spans nearly every studio album issued by WHITESNAKE, including their pre-U.S. fame LPs "Snakebite" (1978, with the band's first hit, "Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City"),"Lovehunter" (1979, with "Walking in the Shadow of the Blues" and "We Wish You Well"),"Ready An' Willing" (1980, with the title track) and "Come An' Get It" (1981, with "Don't Break My Heart Again").
